I believed it would never happen....

...and I was wrong.

Today... I cut my hair.

I refer you to this link for pictorial evidence.

(I'm quite happy with the results. And yes, it feels like my head is going to bounce off of the ceiling with every step.)

Ooh. I need me some new icons.

Woah.

It's hard to express how in awe I am.
I'm chopping mine in September and still terrified.

Congratulations.

Why are you cutting yours off in September?

I think it looks charming.

Of course, it matters more that YOU like it, but I think it looks good.

I think you just inspired me to grow my hair long again after I turn 40.

Heh, that's what I've been doing (although I didn't start again 'til about 42).

Oh, wow - I had no idea. But 'tis indeed nice short, too. :-)

wow! looks AWESOME!

Believe me -- I've been there -- I remember that REALLY big change :)

I just had about 7 inches trimmed off for my birthday this May because I was sitting on it again, still can't decide whether or not I'm going to chop it off again this winter...

It is actually longer than I thought it would be.
The cut really becomes you and frames your face very well.
I cut mine too- 5 inches. It still comes right to my boobs but compared to what is was...
Good for you.
I am thinking of going a bit shorter too.
I'm tired of this hippy hair I've had, ya know?

Whoa! I know you were talking about it, but kudos for taking the leap. :) Granted, I'll have to see it in person before I can make a real opinion (look at me arrogantly presuming you want one!), but from what I can see... super cute.

How did you like the salon, by the way? I still haven't found a place that screams, "THIS IS YOUR SALON." (Maybe because I get my hair cut maybe once a year...)

Well, I picked it because I wandered in to get a feel and the GIGANTIC picture front and center behind the desk was almost exactly the hairstyle I wanted!

Most of the other customers there were old ladies (the JC Penneys at West County mall) but my stylist, Wayne, definitely knew what he was doing and was *fabulous*, if you know what I mean! Very entertaining, and I'll definitely ask for him again.

Well it sounds like Wayne is far more *ahem* fabulous than the last person to do my hair. Maybe I'll give 'im a try...

(Glad you like the job he did, btw. It would have been effin' tragic if you cut your hair for the first time in 15 years only to have someone mangle it...)

Very cute - and more importantly, YOU like it!
(I tend to cut my hair off 10-12" at a time and donate it every couple of years, so I've almost gotten used to the drastic change for myself.)
