Aiden just went up a level of cute.

Driving home in the car. Aiden asks for "mommy song" (Mamma Mia by ABBA, which he loves). I tell him "no, that's only on Daddy's iPod, and Daddy's not here right now."

A sad "oooohh" issues from the back seat.

Then, a moment later, singing - "Mommy song, mommy song.... mommy song, mommy song..."

The impressive thing is that this demonstrated a clear understanding of rhythm, meter, and phrasing. As well as being cute enough to caramelize the blood in my veins.

Singing on their own is one of my favorite things that they do. Scott's first song was Buffalo Soldiers, I don't remember what Jessica's was, but Christopher's was Jingle Bells - The Three Year Old Version. He now enjoys the Dr Horrible soundtrack.

You may end up with diabetes if he keeps being that sweet.

Aiden adores Doctor Horrible! He doesn't sing anything from it (yet), but he'll come and babble at me about it in great detail.

Christopher was cleaning up toys the other day and his brother came to get me so I could hear him. He was singing "Man's Gotta Do" while putting away his cars. He also likes "Brand New Day" while stomping in the hallway.

He also sings in his sleep. He cracks me up.

Being that cute is dangerously close to being a zombie: it'll eat your BRAAAAIINNNNZZZ.

We need to play Alexander more real music. He's just addicted to Happy Birthday, Twinkle Twinkle, Wheels on the Bus, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and some song about a bumblebee. All of which are frequently sung at daycare.
