Some good things about Missouri:

-THEY KNOW HOW TO DRIVE IN SNOW.
-So many friendly people!
-Sane street signage!
-AN ACTUAL BAGEL SHOP two miles from our house (Srsly - Seattle doesn't seem to know what fresh bagels are.)
-a Borders and two craft stores in the three miles between the house and daycare, and a Whole Foods between our house and Andrei's work
-beautiful, easy, freeway-free commutes between house, daycare, and A's office
-our house is TWO DOORS from a huge park!

Okay, so the weather's being a little schizophrenic right now - but from what I read, it's being schizophrenic *everywhere* right now. And at least the snow held off until we were unloaded.

These perks're simple but'll make living there oh-so-much more pleasant. Happy for you! It's full-on Springtime here w/the frogs added to the chorus, more and more hummingbirds flocking to the feeder (must remember to make more nectar today!), other birds emptying seed out of their feeders at high rates as well, llamas out cropping new grass. :-)

Now I am completely confused as to where you live. I know where the Borders and the Whole Paycheck is, but I am baffled how you are getting there.

It is so much fun watching someone discover my city. St Louis gets knocked a lot, and I know why, but having lived here 20 years, I think we have some cool stuff.

That being said, the drivers must have seen you coming and been on good behavour during the snow that Monday. The drive home Thursday was a NIGHTMARE because stuff was falling from the sky. My Dear Asshat on the Highway letters get posted to my journal. The traffic here is insane like that.

And the weather? Needs meds, won't take them. We have talked to it for years, but it insists that it is fine. Then we have another 70 degree day in January or another blizzard in April and we all sigh and shake our heads. 40 degree turn arounds in a day are not uncommon.

And my husband just told me there is a Whole Foods down by 141 at the Commons. I had no idea we had two!

The one by 141 is pretty new; our GPS doesn't know it exists! It's about half a mile from A's work. The Borders is the one on Manchester near New Ballwin Road.

The weather pattern sounds familiar. I grew up in Chicago and Pittsburgh :) I'm just looking forward to more than two seasons! (Even if it does fake them by dithering winter and summer at times...)
