Breastfeeding-related question for the mamas reading this:
Last night Aiden gave me a good hard chomp (I think by accident, both of us were mostly asleep). Since then feeding him on that side has been intensely painful, and there's a tiny white blister on the nipple. I gave that breast a break for the morning. Just fed him again from it, and while it's a little better, it's still hurting quite a bit.

Should I stop feeding entirely from that side until it's better? Or just pump from it to keep the milk supply even? Or grin and bear it as long as it's not actively oozing anything other than milk?

Hm - I thought it wouldn;t be a clogged duct because it came on from a bite. But I suppose any methods of healing a nipple would work, regardless of what brought it on.

Pretty much everything i've read about breast issues involves the same solution - warm compresses and increased, not decreased, expression from that breast. Good luck.

Keirsten had pretty good luck with the teabags. So I'd give that a shot.

I wouldn't stop feeding entirely, as your production would suffer, and empty breasts tend to heal faster (or at least be less prone to further infection/injury) than full ones. Whether you pump or nurse I'd say is purely a matter of which is more comfortable.

Did he break the skin? If it keeps hurting despite these measures, make sure it's not infected. I only say this because kathrynt recently got an abcess from a chomp and needed antibiotics. Though it was my kid who gave her the chomp, so they didn't share flora as much as you and Aiden do.
