symbol dissection: Venus

Here's a nifty tidbit I picked up from an astrologer a few years back, on the dissection of the astrological symbols for Jupiter and Saturn.

Jupiter (looks like a stylized open-top 4) is the Moon _)_ followed by the Sun _+_ (a cross is the Sign of Light, equivalent to the Sun in this case).

Saturn (looks like a stylized h) is the Sun _+_ followed by the Moon _)_.

Then I had this *ping* during last night's performance. Venus is the full moon _O_ over the Sun _+_. Especially appropriate since in the full sequence of the Rites of Eleusis, the Rite of Venus comes after the Rite of Sol, and her Temple rises out of the ruins of the Temple of the Sun.

Oh, and the symbol for Earth is the Sun and Moon combined (+ inside O).

I have yet to figure out how Mercury and Mars fit into this (other than the way Mercury emerges in RoV, which doesn't involve the Sun/Moon combination I'm working with here).

D00d! That's quite nifty. I hadn't realized that before, and that kind of symbology is something that interests me a lot. Thanks!
