nanopost: religion

nanopost: when I have the core of an interesting idea for an essay, but I doubt I'll find the time or focus to develop it anytime in the foreseeable future.

In response to Dawkins et al here:

Religion is not the problem. The problem is the confusion of personal truth with objective fact.

"How much do we regard children as being the property of their parents?" Dawkins asks. "It's one thing to say people should be free to believe whatever they like, but should they be free to impose their beliefs on their children? Is there something to be said for society stepping in? What about bringing up children to believe manifest falsehoods?"

It's official. Dawkins scares me. This can only end in tragedy.
