whoop!

So today I had a hearing test.

Turns out we were right - since having Aiden, my hearing has done the impossible - it's gotten better.

The difference is relatively small; about 5 decibels change in the threshold, at the exact frequency range of a child's voice. But for a measurement that's been unchanged all my life to suddenly improve? That's significant.

Nifty, ain't it?

is this maybe part of a neuro-hearing issue rather than cilia (?)

Nobody knows what caused my hearing problem; the outer and middle ears are fine, which means it's something in the inner ear, which they really can't do much of anything with.

ahh. I have 25-30 in every range -- EXCEPT 3000 in my left ear which neg5. Doc said my ears are borderline normal -- comprehension probs are all neuro, not ear at all. When is the last time your docs ran a full neuro hearing test? It sounds like you may have built a new pathway or two in the hearing center of your brain. The brain is an amazingly plastic thing...
