motherhood, day 7

My post-dural headache is GONE. Thank gods.

I have taken two showers and brushed my hair twice in my son's lifetime.

Aiden has a belly button!

Secret of motherhood #37: nursing HURTS. Much like shoving white-hot spikes through my nipples would, I imagine. I've been assured that my technique is fine and the pain will go away, but it may be a week or so. So I've been introduced to the wonders of the breast pump to give my poor nipples the occasional break.

I'm actually getting plenty of sleep. There's just something wrong about that....

And finally, there is a finite, non-zero chance that there will be a six-and-a-half-day-old baby at Mass this evening :)

Awwww. If you take requests, I'd love to see a picture that includes the belly button. I've actually never seen an outie belly button. And somehow, hanging around playgrounds and asking kids if they have an outie belly button and if so can they show it to me always seemed like a bad idea.

It seems to be spawning time for my cohort. I remember when I was inundated with weddings. Now, one of my housemates just became an uncle about two days ago, and I have two friends who are pregnant, and you just had your lovely boy. I think this is cooler than the weddings though. I hope your family will be full of love, peace, joy, and sleep. I know the last one is a bit less likely, but that's why I'm wishing it for you.
