upcoming reviews

Oh, and here's what I'm reading currently, in order of when I started them. We'll see which one makes it to the review stage first, or if another one jumps in and hijacks my attention. (Multi-track mind? Me?)

The System of the World by Neil Stephenson
Spiritual Midwifery by Ina May Gaskin
Do What Thou Wilt: A Life of Aleister Crowley by Lawrence Sutin
Moral Politics: How Liberals and Conservatives Think by George Lakoff
Smilla's Sense of Snow by Peter Hoeg

Please tell me what you think of System of the World. I have devoured everything else by Stephenson, but can't seem to crack those three.

Well, the first two were a mixed bag. Quicksilver was really, really slow, but had its interesting bits. I quite liked The Confusion, though I still got a bit lost in places. System of the World so far seems much more like QS than TC, sadly, hence why it's taking me so long to get through it.

It might be easier if I had a better grasp of medieval European history going into it, but as it is I can't keep any of the people or events straight.

I've just started Moral Politics. We had a guest speaker at church who used that as a reference point and i find it fascinating.
