Yes, yes, YES! Now go away.

Snarfed from multiple people: Caring for your Introvert.

Clearly outlines many things I've known for a long time, and puts into words other things that I didn't even explicitly realize were part of introversion -

"...The worst of it is that extroverts have no idea of the torment they put us through. Sometimes, as we gasp for air amid the fog of their 98-percent-content-free talk, we wonder if extroverts even bother to listen to themselves."

Introvert Article
I thought the article was a little bit whiny for my taste, but that quote is gold.

Re: Introvert Article
Also, I think that he is applying a lot of things to introverts that don't really belong.

"Are introverts arrogant? Hardly. I suppose this common misconception has to do with our being more intelligent, more reflective, more independent, more level-headed, more refined, and more sensitive than extroverts."

Was that supposed to be a joke?

Re: Introvert Article
The first part, I'm assuming comes from one of the various beliefs that if you don't speak your mind, that you probably don't have the wits to do so. On the otherhand, he is being a bit egotistical in the rest of what he says. I would say overall, that intros. tend to be more observant and thus, are able to take in subtle information, whereas extroverts are more likely to miss it amidst their yapping. But refined, reflective, sensitive and level-headed? *Some* may be, but to speak for the whole is overstepping things. I've met my share of shakey minded, sloppy, insensitive introverts. It's all in the wording...it could've been better said.

Intriguing article and a handy thing to shove at my extrovert friends who practically insist I visit them on a regularly scheduled basis and attend all their parties (usually involves just me as the other person, cause the fourth tends to cancel. I suppose I should learn from that activity) like I'm their long lost child or their significant other....oy.

:) How spiff. I need to make use of this now.

I found out this weekend that having a roll of duct tape visibly available works wonders ;-)
