news flash!

So, those who know me, and many of you who don't, know that I am a Cat Person (tm). While there are dogs I tolerate, in general they make me want to climb up to high places and hiss; especially those of the small yappy variety.

However, this weekend in Portland I met an exception. Yes, for real - there exists a dog in this universe that I not only like, but will go out of my way to give affection to.

You want proof? Here's proof.

Are we supposed to believe that picture... I think not...
...it's obviously doctored. I mean... You with a dog? No, it's obviously doctored, I mean... look. The guy next to you is wearing socks and no leather vest. Picture is obviously a fake.

Dogs that size are really an exotic breed of cat.

I've met several chihuahuas and a pomeranian, all of which were hyper and yippy and made my hair stand on end. I've heard many dogs described as being more catlike than not, but this was the first one I've met that actually lived up to that description.

Ahhhh, you admit this one is really a cat in hiding.....

Actually I completely agree with you on the small yippy dog thing. Now I'll be inpressed if you have a harpes sized dog on you lap (or even snuggled up to you).

Chihuahas and poms are often badly bred, encouraging that sort of behavior. I used to think I hated small dogs too, until I met some well-bred ones.

I love pugs. I want to have one when we have a yard.

I didn't even need to see the picture to know you were talking about Miss Pig, the coolest doggie in the world.

Ok, that picture is just all around cool, with you and the dog (next thing you know, Democrats will work with Republicans...), and Andrei there sans vest (or is it underneath his jacket?? Hmmmmmm...). I don't think I've ever seen the two of you in a picture together. iGlasses doesn't count. :-P

Nope, I actually retired the vest...
but in a show of nostalgia, it is my U Pitt jacket. ;)

Awwww.

I had a Shih Tzu that was rather cat like. You might have liked her.
(Ex-girlfriend took her as breakup "tax")

Yep, dogs that think they're cats. Those are my favorite kind, too.

How about a cat that thinks he's a dog? Hex comes when called, walks on a leash, fetches, and considers me the alpha in the house. It's very odd ;)

Hrm, that might work, as long as there's no barking and slobbering involved.

The doggie is indeed cute, and you guys both look really good in that picture ;)

If you could train *snickers* a shiba inu to not bark so much (the females are rather territorial when another female shiba is in line of sight, apparently), that's definitely a cat in a dog suit....in that they are kind of snotty and as difficult to train as a cat is. But, if that's fine, there's your dog. I want one. They're *verrrry* cute with their little fox faces. Not sure how it would get along with the borzoi that I also want, but, eh. *lol*
