oof x2

I hit Bikram Yoga again this morning. It's harder in the morning! I should have expected it, you're stiffer and not as warm to begin with earlier in the day. But I managed it okay, conserved my energy, was able to truly relax into the easier poses.

The yoga teacher also confirmed my research that Bikram is okay in early pregnancy if you're not having trouble with the heat. You can stay near the door (the cooler part of the room) and there are pregnancy variations of most of the poses. I'm pleased - I would have hated to finally get going on this, only to have to stop right away!

(No, I'm not pregnant yet. But I could be any day now. Whee.)

Hm. Methinks I need a yoga icon.

I think yoga is recommended as an exercise for pregnancy, although that may be hatha yoga - I'm certainly no expert on the different kinds - but gentle exercise can help keep your body toned and even help the muscles you will need during birth.

yay pregnancy!

i have no idea about bikram yoga. but the stuff i did was fine up until my belly got in the way of up-dogs (about 4.5 months?).

overheating is a problem later in the first trimester, but only (i'd imagine) because your body feels like shit when you overheat.

i'm sure you listen to your body; that's all you need to do.

Hrmm...
If I were to pick a yoga icon for you I'd have to say you doing the Mermaid pose. For me it'd probably end up being down dog or some of the other weird poses that I can. Maybe even Bridge... (that would be cool)
