I was a Maenad in The Rite of Jupiter last night. Much drunken revelry. Did not want to de-invoke.

Kinda hung over now (well, about as hung over as I ever get). And sore. But wow. That was a truly excellent night.

Evoe! Evoe ho!

Wouldn't it be Io Bacchus?

Re:
nope. Bacchus is actually the Romanized spelling of one of Dionysos' titles, Bakkhos, and is the name that the Romans called him by.

I'm Greek, not Roman, and am a devotee of Dionysos. :)

I knew that Bacchus was the Roman name for Dionysis, but given that io was a Roman/Latin term, and seeing as it was a festival of Jupiter as opposed to Zeus, I thought that the Roman form would be preferred.

Re:
true. actually, it should be Ie Dionysos. :) I'm not as up on my Latin as I am my Greek, admittedly. Which is a shame, cause it tends to be very useful.

Well, the pantheons get fudged a lot in these rites anyway - this is Crowley we're talking about, and he wasn't always the most, erm, precise when it came to the interpretation of mythology.
