seattle is starting to annoy me

I get up, it's fantastically gorgeous outside, sunny and bright. I check my email, thinking of what I might want to do outside today. I look up - and it's pouring rain.

What the hell, Seattle? You're acting like Pittsburgh! Stop it!!

Sudden rain
I was out walking Barney this beautiful morning, then it started to rain. It was a very cold rain! It actually started out as light hail. Brrrr.

Sister, get use to it. It sucks but it is not like this during the late spring and summer, at least for the most part.
I agree though, I woke up and it was sunny, and I thought 'great I need some sun, will cheer me up' I get out to the living room for coffee and it is raining, WTF!

I feel your pain.

You willingly moved to Seattle, and now you're complaining that it's raining there?

Did you complain there were too many socially inept geeks when you got to CMU too? :->

Gosh, that seems awfully quick! What's your timeline? I must say, you didn't seem like the LA type, but then, I haven't been around you that much.

I'm sure you aren't moving there solely for the folks you've fallen in love with, but on the possibility that I'm wrong, I hope you will ask around to get a feel for the vast amount of pain that often happens when a person moves to be near another while in the throes of NRE and then as that NRE wears off for one or the other, gets the hangover. It's much worse than an alcohol hangover and it lasts longer, often longer than the original NRE high. I've heard the story so often on the national poly lists that it almost seems like a cliche. But not to the people it happens to. They are too involved in their devastating pain to appreciate the common aspects.

Re me being the LA type: I didn't think so either, until I made an extended visit there.

Re reasons for moving: no, Andrei's not the only reason, though I won't deny he's a significant part of it. And I am fully aware of the risks. I doubt there's anything I could say to demonstrate that I know what I'm doing, but this feels right as very few things have in my life.

Oh, but this is Spring! So enjoy it. It's marked by warmer weather, even more green things, and turbulence -- hence the wind and quick weather changes.

It always makes me want to clean everything in sight.
