RENT: The Movie

Fucking fabulous.

Though if you didn't like the show (I know there are a few of you out there) you probably won't like the movie. It is a very faithful adaptation, doesn't pull any punches. A few things rearranged, two songs cut (Happy New Year and Red Heat), but nothing feels forced or noticeably missing. Some of what they did with Without You just blew my mind.

And yes, I cried. I did at the stage production too, shut up.

I should add that it gives me hope for American culture that this movie pulled off only a PG-13 rating, given its content.
