Lenses are really expensive. I keep drooling over Canon's 70-200 2.8 zoom, but it's $1500, which is just too much.

FWIW, some digital cameras are really good for macro work, and can be had for cheaper than the cost of a good macro lens for a 35mm camera. (Small imager means small glass means cheap glass. Small imager also equals small focal length equals poor ability to control depth of field, so it's usually a nuisance to not have a full 35mm frame available, but for macro or extreme telephoto it's an advantage. I keep drooling over the sub-$500 Olympus digicam with stabilized 10x optical zoom.)

You may have reasons for wanting to use film, but I figured I'd mention this in case you don't care either way. :-)
