Laurel came up with a theory that the reason I hate chocolate and coffee is that I'm sensitive to the taste of caffiene. That didn't make sense at first considering how much I love dew. However, dew has about a third the caffiene concentration that coffee does, and a quarter to two-thirds what chocolate does. Since I'll occasionally be willing to eat milk chocolate (which has less caffiene than dark) that fits. Hmmm.
