Okay, that's totally illegibile over here. Why are there ampersands in front of every spelled-out greek letter??

What browser are you using? Could be the language pack.

hmm. those are the html codes for displaying greek letters - it's supposed to be platform-independent. wonder why it didn't show up right for you.

Using nutscrape 4.78 here. Refuse to use exploder, don't even try. :p

I also get "?" in place of all the kanji that Deanna uses in her posts. And blank boxes in some other forums where people use kanji or hebrew or chinese.

OSX's OmniWeb doesn't handle it either.

I have the feeling that α-ω are I.E. additions and not part of the standard library of HTML entities.

As for Japanese, best thing to do is play with the "Encoding" for the page. No browser really handles this well because no OS has really gotten the Unicode standard well implemented yet.

One reason is the unicode "standard" is interanally ambiguous. it also blissfully ignores what happens when not only is there a character set shift, but that shift implies a change in reading direction.
